Antique Cowhide B-15

TEMPORARY PRICE REDUCTION + FREE SWEATSHIRT! Our Antique Cowhide B-15 is a remake of a classic flight jacket, recreated in beautiful hand-aged Italian cowhide leather! The B-15 was derived from the B-10, which was developed for the USAAF in 1943 (the B-10 was the AAF's first cloth jacket and was meant to replace the venerable A-2). The B-15 was introduced in 1944 (initially in cloth during WWII, then later in nylon after the war) and saw service with the USAF until the early 1950s when it was replaced by the MA-1. Having transitioned from the WWII era into the '50s, the B-15 was the first of the USAF's modern "jet age" nylon flight jackets. These jackets were sleek, lightweight, warm and ideally suited to fulfill the demands required by the new era of jet flight.
We've taken the ultimate version of this jacket, the B-15D, and upgraded it with soft & supple antique cowhide leather! Authentic details include the oxygen mask retention tab on the left chest, a pair of radio headset cord tabs, two unflapped snap-closure front pockets, pen-pencil pocket on the left sleeve, one interior pocket, removable genuine mouton fur collar (with standard leather collar underneath), knit cuffs & waistband, and 100% nylon lining. We've even given this jacket a few years of "wear" -- the hand-rubbed, hand-aged cowhide gives this jacket the subtle look of a veteran flight jacket right out of the box! And to make this jacket even more versatile, we've included a zip-in/out Thinsulate liner for added warmth when the temperature drops, making this a true three season jacket!
Our Antique Cowhide B-15 is a classic flyer's jacket at heart so it's perfectly suited for high altitude wear, but its luxurious leather construction gives it a degree of sophistication not found in a typical nylon flight jacket. It's the perfect amalgam of military practicality & upscale luxury, making it the ideal jacket for all your high-flying or ground-level activities! Color: antique brown.

It combines the style of the 1943 original with the modern convenience of a zipper (which original M-43s did not have) under the button-closure windflap. HOT ITEM! This is an authentic reproduction of the M-51 field jacket. The M-51 (M-1951) was the first major revision of the field jacket since the WWII M-43 and is the predecessor to the current M-65 field jacket. Worn during the Korean War and during the early part of the Vietnam War, the M-51 will bring back memories to vets of that era.
The M-51 retains some of the characteristics of the M-43, but includes a zippered front under a snap-closed windflap (an improvement in both practicality & convenience over the M-43's button front). Features include a 100% washed cotton shell (and matching lining) for that authentic "vintage" look, four snap-closure front pockets, mid-waist drawstring, buttoned epaulets, heavy duty front zipper, double buttoned cuffs, drawstring adjustable bottom hem, and interior buttons for attaching a Vietnam-era liner (liner not included). The sweatshirt is made from soft & comfortable 50% cotton/50% poly preshrunk NuBlend fleece (which is virtually pill-free) and features set-in sleeves, cadet collar, brass-toned quarter front zipper, 1x1 ribbed cuffs & waistband (with Spandex for excellent stretch & recovery), double-napped interior for ultra softness & increased loft, double-needle coverseaming on neckline, armholes & waistband for added durability, and the famous "Sgt. NEW ITEM! This is a faithful reproduction of the classic WWII field jacket, worn by the troops who stormed the beaches at Normandy during the Allied invasion of Nazi-occupied France! Features include a mil spec olive cotton shell (with the Cockpit's special "4 Year Combat Wash" to give this garment the well-worn look of a combat veteran), four front cargo pockets (all with hidden button closures for a clean look), an under-windflap button-closure front, waist adjustable internal drawstring, button-closure cuffs, neck flap attached to the left collar (which can be buttoned across the neck for added cold or wind protection), bi-swing back for freedom of movement, full body & sleeve lining, and an authentic Army Quartermaster Corps cotton label. Two internal pockets have also been added to store additional necessities.
The design of the M-43 was so successful that all subsequent US Military field jackets, including the current-issue M-65, are still remarkably similar to it. This outstanding field jacket will feel like an old friend from the first moment you put it on, and its light weight ensures year 'round wear! Imported. Color: olive green.

The leather is lambskin from the mountains of south-central Asia, which is ultra-lightweight (and not available on the open market... this leather is a US Wings exclusive). It's also incredibly soft... the leather has been hand-worked and hand-stretched to give it a luxurious level of softness & suppleness that must be seen to be fully appreciated. Also, the hand-aging antiquing process really brings out the leather's varied grain & subtle color variations for that authentic "antique" appearance. It's truly a "VIP-class" jacket!
Cut & sized specifically for women, the jacket features two front snap-flap cargo pockets with side-entry handwarmers, one piece back, snap-down collar, an interior pocket, nylon lining, antiqued brass zipper, and knit cuffs & waistband. A bit of extra length has been added to the body and the sleeves to give the wearer unrestricted comfort, whether in the cockpit, the driver's seat, or on the ground.

David Hack's life, sacrifices and accomplishments in the face of extreme adversity are examples of the spirit of anyone who has feared, doubted, suffered and even failed, but refused to quit.

Life Of A Warrior was first published in 2003 (copyrighted in October 2005) and is based on the screenplay Finding Home. Finding Home is the screenplay for the movie based on the life of Sgt. David Hack and was written by Cory Turner and Kenny & Kyle Saylors (fielded 9/30/03 by Rhode & Victoroff, 1880 Century Park East Suite 411, Los Angeles CA 90067-1604); certain dates and events may have been altered or dramatized. Approx. 15,000 free copies have been distributed per year from 2003-2011.
