 Back by popular demand! We haven't produced a striated lambskin A-2 since 1986 and thought it was high time we rectified this. "Striated" lambskin starts with the finest French lambskin available: it's extremely soft, supple and substantial too (not like the paper-thin lambskin you might find in a "fashion" leather jacket). The lambskin is then hand-stretched to achieve its unique striated appearance. This results in a wonderfully "grainy" and rugged-looking jacket, each with its own distinctive characteristics (so no two jackets will look exactly alike). The leather is also designed to age rapidly as you wear it, giving the jacket that proper "vintage" look!
Features include two front cargo pockets with side-entry handwarmers, snap-down collar, epaulets, an interior pocket, nylon lining, antiqued brass zipper, and knit cuffs & waistband.
This limited edition jacket combines the classic features of the venerable A-2 with the uniquely rugged look of striated leather. We will only produce a small quantity of these outstanding A-2s so get yours while you can... or you may have to wait another 25 years! Made in the USA.

Our Signature Series™ Cowhide VIP A-2 is a modern reproduction of the classic A-2 jacket, but made from incredibly supple cowhide leather for a degree of luxury not usually associated with military jackets. Cowhide has a reputation of being tough and durable, but supple as cardboard. Our Cowhide VIP A-2 shatters that stereotype! The leather is buttery-soft premium cowhide, non-distressed for a more "dressier" look. The quality, softness, and suppleness of this premium leather must be seen to be appreciated. Yet it is still an A-2 and retains all the classic A-2 features, including: snap-down collar, stitched-down shoulder epaulets, one-piece back and sleeves, and knit cuffs and waistband. Plus, with a nod toward modern practicality, we've added side entry handwarmers to the two front cargo pockets and an inside pocket (which were not present in the original A-2s). This is a sharp and stylish "upscale" A-2, more refined than the typical military A-2, but every bit as tough as those worn in the skies over Europe and the Pacific during WWII. USAAF Horsehide A-2

If you want an authentic WWII A-2 jacket, horsehide is it! The original USAAF Specs (DWC 30-1415 of Sept. 1930) called for Seal Brown horsehide to be the required material for this jacket. A-2s became standard issue in 1931 and continued through 1942, when production ceased in favor of cloth flight jackets. The A-2 made a triumphant return to active duty in 1987, but in goatskin, not horsehide. US Wings is proud to once again offer a horsehide A-2.
Here is your chance to own an authentic piece of American aviation history. This jacket is genuine in every detail, and we feel it is the finest horsehide A-2 you can buy! Our Signature Series™ Horsehide A-2 is constructed from supple, but tough, 3 oz. horsehide. You'll notice the natural creases, graining, scratches, range marks, and other blemishes that enhance the character of the jacket. These are not imperfections, but are naturally-occurring characteristics of horsehide leather. The specially-treated horsehide leather will begin to antique rapidly as you wear it... giving this jacket that authentic "battle-worn" look. All the original spec details are here, including: snap-down collar, collar clip, front cargo pockets, mil-spec brass zipper, one-piece back, poly-cotton lining, and the original Seal Brown-colored horsehide leather.
